Quality + Value
The backbones of the best businesses on earth.
Find the Intersection
A business will thrive on two things: Quality & Value. The more you provide, the more you can expect in return.
Value and Quality are rarely decided by you or by any consultant you might hire. No, your customers know where they’d rather be receiving higher quality or squeezing out more value. No survey they take will ever be as reliable of a source of data as their actions are.
You might say “But what if quality and value are mutually exclusive?”, many would be inclined to say that’s the case.
However, the words themselves are so broad, there’s no way one can’t exist because the other does. But, they are heavily influential on each other. Their relationship is so strong, that I like to use another word to think about both of them and another meaning that you’ll enjoy too:
en·riche·ment (n.)
2.
The process of making someone wealthy or wealthier.
"the enrichement of small businesses is the goal of any good agency or contractor"
1.
The action of improving or enhancing the quality or value of something.
"the enrichement of the ad campaigns for revenue growth was successful"
That’s no typo, that extra e comes from my last name, Riche. Read more about me here
Quality might mean attention to detail or choosing the best resources to use. It can also mean a personal connection or a customized experience. The source of quality is less important than if your customers can tangibly feel that you are being intentional about the service or product that they’re getting. It’s important to discover that threshold in your industry or in your customer-base. This threshold is the intersection of quality and value.
The value of your business is broader than just cashflow. The dollars flow because of price and experience. If you look at what you’re providing—a cheap alternative, an upgraded replacement, or that perfect sliver of “not-expensive-enough-for-me-to-care” products or services—and turn that product into the best experience for the customer, they’ll choose you until someone else can do it with the same quality or the same value to them. That value can be found in speed, simplicity, stress reduction, collaboration, diligence, or price. All are fair game.
So what does that mean? It sounds like you’ll need to figure out a few facts about your business and a few things about your customers and their goals. Just a couple of needs, nothing too complicated, right?
What do you need?
This is a question that you ask yourself as much as anyone else asks you. Asking this has served you well so far, it’s your speed and diligence to the answer that’s helped you succeed. Now you need another point of view. Someone not engrained in the day-to-day of it all. I’ll have questions so then I can ask you the right questions and I’ll have answers that I may not be able to bring to fruition.
But what I do care about is what you need. There are things you need done, things you need to know, and things you didn’t even know were possible. I’m here to help you as best as possible or point you in the direction of someone who’ll help you find that next level of quality or that next pocket of value.
